Our Beliefs

What is the doctrinal foundation of J316Orlando?

About

Our beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the complete and perfect word of God. We believe that the sixty six books, that include Old and the New Testament, were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and are completely exempt of error, and that the Bible is the decisive authority in all questions of faith and is the true foundation of Christianity.

(Psalm 19:7, 119:105, 2 Tim 3:16-17, Heb 4:12, 2 Peter 1:21)

GOD

We believe in God, the creator of everything, as Holy, Sovereign, Eternal; who exists in three persons who are of the same essence: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(Ex 15:11, Mat 28:19, Heb 3:4)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the absolute deity of Jesus Christ, in His eternal existence with the Father in glory, His incarnation, in His virgin birth, His life without sin, His substitute death, physical resurrection, triumphal ascent, mediating ministry, and physical return to gather His Church.

(Mat 1:18-23, John 1:1-12, Heb 4:14-16)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the absolute deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, justice and judgment: who regenerates, guides, sanctifies, illuminates, comforts, and inhabits in those who believe in Christ.

(John 14:15-26, 15:26, 16:7-15)

MANKIND

We believe that humans were created by God in His image and likeness and that mankind sinned and was found guilty and deserving of God's just judgement. This resulted in separation from God and both physical and spiritual death.

(Gen 1:26-27, Rom 1:18-32, 2:1-16, Gal 3:22-29)

SALVATION & SANCTIFICATION

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, for which Christ voluntarily suffered death and poured out His blood, and that justification is only through faith in the sacrifice and resurrection of out Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the sanctification which is the separation of the Christian for God through a self denial of fleshly desires and a consecration to God.

(Mat 18:11, John 3:16, Acts 15:11, Rom 3:23, Eph 2:4-9, 4:22-32, Heb 9:13-15, 12:14, 1 Peter 1:14-15, 1 John 4:12)

THE SEAL, FULLNESS OR BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the person, as soon as they believe and confess that Christ is their savior, is sealed with the Holy Spirit. We believe in the fullness or baptism of the Holy Spirit as a vital component of the process of Christian holiness. We believe that the fruit of the Holy Spirit has internal effects but with external manifestations.

(Mat 3:11, Acts 1:8, 2:4, Eph 1:13)

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit gives gifts to the church to be used for the edification of itself, for the spread of the Gospel, and for the glory of Jesus. We believe that each Christian has received special capacities from the Holy Spirit.

(Rom 11:29, 12:1-8, 1 Cor 7:7, 1 Peter 4:10)

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ and is for the praise and glory of God. We believe that the Church should be united, should love one another, and should spread the Gospel.

(Mat 5:13-16, 9:35, 16:18, 18:19-20, 22:36-40, John 4:23, Rom 12:4-5, 1 Cor 12:27)

THE CEREMONIES

We believe in the following two decrees given to the church according to the teachings of the New testament:

a) Baptism - Which is done by the immersion of the believer in water, and by this means obeying the order of Christ and establishing identification with Christ in His death and resurrection.
(Mat 3:4-6, 28:19, John 3:22-23, Act 8:36-39)

b) The Holy Communion - Which is the memorable act in which the believer takes part in the elements of bread and wine, and which symbolizes the body and the blood of Christ poured out on Calvary.
(Luke 22:14-20, 1 Cor 11:23-33)

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe in the second coming of Christ Jesus to the Earth, in person, to raise His Church, in which the dead in Christ will be resurrected first.

(Mat 26:64, 1 Cor 15:51-58, 1 Thess 4:13-18)

THE ETERNAL KINGDOM

We believe in the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ, in the transformation of all the things; where there will be a new sky and a new earth where Jesus will reign eternally.

(Is 11:6-9, Daniel 7:13-14, Micah 4:3-4; Mat 24:30, Rev 11:15, 20:1-15)
